Walter, originally from Chihuahua, Mexico, joined VFF in 2019 on an H2A agricultural visa. He applied for a more permanent status in 2020, driven by the desire to raise his family in the United States. Walter is married to Jessica Giesbrecht and they have four children. Walter has a clear goal of being a successful farmer and passing on his knowledge and love for farming to his children, just like his dad taught him. Walter’s previous experience as an EMT gave him a unique perspective and the ability to thrive in high-pressure situations. Walter has a network of Christian friends, who are supportive mentors and helpful in achieving his goals.
Walter is a valuable asset to the VFF team with his diverse range of duties, including wheat drilling, trucking, general maintenance, electric work, and harvesting. However, his primary role as the irrigation lead is crucial to VFF’s success, showcasing his contribution to the team.
