Paula graduated from Bethany College with a B.A. in secondary English education and M.A. in English from Fort Hays State University. Although her family wasn’t directly involved in farming, Paula’s upbringing in Scott City, along with her summers spent working at local grain elevators during wheat harvest, fostered her connection to the agricultural world. Paula and Brian were married in 1998 and are parents to Parker (2000), Paige (2003), and Camden (2006).

While initially teaching English courses at Garden City Community College, Paula’s career path has evolved as the farm expanded. She now works full-time for Labache Ag, Luc Valentin’s crop insurance business, as well as VFF. She has become an expert in crop insurance administration. Consequently, she is in charge of VFF’s acreage and production reporting to the FSA office and crop insurance.
