Judi Vulgamore

Bookkeeping

Larry and Judi (Crist) Vulgamore both grew up on farms in the Shallow Water, Kansas area. From an early age, Larry knew he wanted to be a farmer and, luckily, it didn’t take much to convince his high school sweetheart that farming was the life for them. After graduating from Shallow Water High School, Larry and Judi attended Kansas State University where Larry earned a B.S. degree in agronomy. While at K-State, Larry was also involved in the Army ROTC program. Together, Larry and Judi raised three children: Heidi, Brian and Myles.

Larry’s work ethic and passion for farming played a pivotal role in transforming the operation into what it is today. He always preferred to be out in the field more than anywhere else. His meticulous attention to detail and determined perfectionism became his trademark, and those qualities have certainly influenced Brian and Myles. Larry passed away on the farm in October 2016 doing what he loved most—planting wheat.

Judi has always excelled in handling the farm’s finances and bookkeeping. From an early age, she instilled in her children the importance of financial management, teaching them how to balance a checkbook and creating budgets. She taught her children at an early age to balance a checkbook and create a budget. Her astuteness and business sense provided a positive model for her sons. While Judi has slowly transitioned out of her role as the primary bookkeeper for VFF, she still provides assistance in the office on a daily basis. Her number one priority in life is being a grandma to her nine grandchildren.
