The Importance of Cleaning Up Old Farm Sites

Living in Western Kansas means we’re no strangers to strong winds that can cause significant damage to our homes, crops and animals. But did you know that old homestead buildings and farm sites can also pose a threat during these wind storms? It is essential to clean up these sites and the VFF team is doing its part to keep our communities safe.

Loose tin, worn-out posts, and other debris can become flying projectiles during a windstorm. Not only can this debris cause harm to nearby people and animals, but it can also end up in fields and cause damage to crops or machinery. It’s crucial to identify and address these potential hazards before they cause harm.

Cleaning up old homestead buildings and farm sites not only prevents potential hazards during wind storms, but it also helps keep our communities looking neat and tidy. A neglected property can attract rodents and other pests, which can pose a health risk to nearby residents. Additionally, cleaning up these sites can help prevent accidents and injuries that can result from tripping over debris or falling through old floors.

At VFF, we’re committed to keeping our communities safe and clean. That’s why we make it a priority to identify potential hazards and take steps to address them. Our team is experienced in cleaning up, removing any debris and ensuring that the property is safe and secure.
